The Journal of Hand Surgery publishes original, peer-reviewed articles related to the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and conditions of the upper extremity; these include both clinical and basic science studies, along with case reports. Special features include Review Articles (including Current Concepts and The Hand Surgery Landscape), Reviews of Books and Media, and Letters to the Editor.
Beginning in January 2006, The Journal of Hand Surgery incorporated the Journal of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
Open Access Option for Authors
This journal offers an open access choice for authors. If authors choose to publish their manuscript as open access, there is an Open Access publication charge which will be invoiced to the authors or their research funders. The Article Publishing Charge is USD 3,450, excluding taxes. Members of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand are eligible for a discount of 50% off the open access publication fee.
Authors are also welcome to submit to the journal’s open access companion title, Journal of Hand Surgery Global Online.
