Based on consultation with Dr. Manske, Editor of the Journal of Hand Surgery, and myself, the ASSH Council has voted to merge the Journal of Hand Surgery and the Journal of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand effective with the January 2006 issue. The new Journal of Hand Surgery will be published 10 times per year (instead of 6) and will contain both original scientific articles as well as review, technique, and special articles to provide a comprehensive overview of hand surgery on a near-monthly basis.
Both Dr. Manske and myself will serve as Editors of the Journal of Hand Surgery. We would encourage all interested readers to continue to submit scientific studies and well-written review and new technique articles which, from here on, will be published in the expanded Journal of Hand Surgery.
