Giant-cell reparative granuloma (GCRG) or a solid variant of an aneurysmal bone cyst
(ABC) is an uncommon benign reactive lesion with a predilection for the small tubular
bones of the hands and feet. Treatment usually involves wide resection or amputation
because of unacceptable high recurrence rates after curettage. Adjuvant therapy usually
is applied to reduce the recurrence of locally aggressive bone tumors. We report 2
cases of GCRG that were treated successfully with curettage, adjuvant phenol and ethanol,
and autogenous bone grafting.
