In the article by Geck, Dorey, Lawrence, and Johnson, entitled “Congenital Radius Deficiency: Radiographic Outcome and Survivorship Analysis” (J Hand Surg 1999;24A:1132–1144), the data presented in Table 1 are incorrect; specifically, the Ulnar bow at Final Follow-up was 20.6 ±16.1 rather than 11.4 ± 16.1. The corrected table appears below.
Table 1Overall Deformity Correction Assessed in All Patients (29 Limbs in 23 Patients)
Preoperative Index | Immediate Postoperative Index | Final Follow-up | p Value | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Hand forearm angle (°) | 62.0 ± 26.0 | 3.8 ± 12.8 | 12.2 ± 19.8 | .001 |
Hand forearm position (mm) | −11.1 ± 5.6 | 13.0 ± 4.8 | 11.4 ± 7.8 | .001 |
Ulnar bow (°) | 29.8 ± 24.8 | 17.5 ± 17.5 | 20.6 ± 16.1 | .065 |
Data are presented as mean values ± SD. Eight patients needed revision. The p values are for preoperative values to final follow-up values for significance of correction.
